1. Ah, what’s goin’ on DTFedz?

Here I am sitting in my kitchen drinking a frosty Heineken while wearing a Jabbawockeez Tee. It’s been MONTHS since I’ve sat down and write about my life and the updates within it. So where do I start?

    Career

Well…I’m still situated in London, ON working as a Marketing Director for a Marketing/Advertising promotional company. In terms of career, things are great. Challenging, satisfying and amazing are just a few words to describe my current career situation. I don’t dread waking up and going to work so that’s a definite plus. It’s been 10 months, and my review is closing in. Ah, time to ask for a raise? We’ll see…

    Health

I would say my health is stable. It’s been a year since I’ve been working hard on my fitness level. In a way, it became an addiction but a good one. Weight lifting to cross-fit training. 3 times a week with supplements from pre-workout to post workout protein, trying to push my body to it’s limits while staying healthy physically, mentally and spiritually.

    Love

You know what? For some odd reason, I attract 2 types of girls. Crazy girls with extra baggage, or non-intellect, high maintenance Barbie dolls. I mean, I’m not saying the girls I have had past relationships with were horrible people, it’s just…I’m tired of the same old, that doesn’t go nowhere. Single and enjoying it, I’m focusing 100% of my energy on my career and health. I enjoy doing “ME” until a lady attracts me, sparks fly, and butterflies flutter endlessly in the sky

    Misc.

Ah what else? I would like to move to Toronto, seeing as it’s one of my life goals, but the time isn’t here yet. I have too much on the go right now, but when the time comes (and it will), the transition to TO will be effortless. Fate has placed me here in London for some odd reason, so I’m trying to make the best of it while I’m here.

    Cheers

  2. I welcome you 2012.

January 1st marks the time where I sit in front of my computer screen, spilling words, phrases and content regarding the experiences that I went through in “yester-year”. 2011 was a mixed year, filled with numerous of positive and negative experiences, to shape me for who I am today, to where I am currently situated. Instead of writing long bodies of copy, I’ve decided to condense the 365 days of 2011 into key highlights.

    —-

    • Stuck in a relationship that was nothing but negativity and inconsistency. The relationship ended on a bad note, but was one of the best choices I’ve made in 2011.

    • Lost my job in Waterloo due to lack of “investments”, so a career shift was made that brought me into London.

    • I was once a Marketing Specialist, but dropped the title for an even better title - Marketing Director. Currently working for one of the best companies in Canada.

    • During the summer season, I was surrounded by friends, family, lovers, and strangers. It was a summer of healing and learning, while careless fun in between.

    • Flew to Calgary in September for a marketing presentation that went extremely well. Even though it was work related, hopping on a plane, listening to your favourite tune and travelling is always welcome.

    • My parents just built a house in the country, and I am proud of their accomplishments, and the work, effort and sacrifice just to have a beautiful home where our family can come together as one.

    • My left arm is now covered with black crows, representing family, friends, and mentors that inspired me, who helped me, pushed me, and loved me.

    • Met an amazing lady who I’ve connected on such levels - Alyssa Faller

    ——

So there you have it, some key highlights of 2011. I’m looking forward to 2012, and curious what the year brings. This is Duong Tran, and if you’re reading this, I hope you all the best and a healthy and positive year

  3. Fog.

    Such isolation. Eerie exploration

  4. My Lifestyle.

Some people prefer living complex and busy lives, while some enjoys simplicity. One may enjoy having lavish apartments, and glamourous clothing. The other may be happy with a warm cozy sweater, situated in a desolate forest. Everyone has their own lifestyles from living conditions, to living environment.

My preferred lifestyle? Outdoors, rustic, natural, open-ness and “organic”.

  5. Yesterday - August. Today - September. Tomorrow - October

Lets trade long, warm, sunny days, with cool crisp atmosphere and fallen leaves. Today marks the first day of September, which means fall is upon us. I must say, I had a great summer despite a few setbacks (keep an eye out for my summer summary blog). It’s been a bag of mixed emotions because I enjoy long summer nights, but at the same time I do miss the cool breezes of autumn. This transition is a love - hate relationship.

That being said, there are so many things to look forward to when it comes to fall. Orange leaves, cool breezes, and of course…Halloween! But is it worth the trade for beach weather and careless days?

  6. Eden or Ethan?

If there’s one child that I extremely adore, it’s got to be my baby cousin Ethan. Or as my family would call him “Eden” (due to the language barriers). But that’s not the point of this entry. I just wanted to post a picture of how cute this child really is!

  7. What are you passionate about?

I thought I’d write a quick blurb about the topic “Passion” before getting some shuteye. So without using my friend Google for a definitive answer, here’s my interpretation of passion.

Passion -  An internal connection and devotion where one would strive to further their admiration.

Everyone human being has a passion for something. Whether it’s carpentry, cutting hair to collecting Star War figurines, it’s an unexplainable emotion that makes people better themselves and progress in what they love.

Personally, I am extremely passionate about art. Whether it’s dance, music or graphic design, anything that sparks my imagination, or opens my jar of creativity, I’m in. If we didn’t have any passionate people out there, it would be a clockwork world, shrouded by grey and emptiness (please don’t mind my imagery).

But really, passionate individuals color this world, making it interesting and a more lively place to live. If you’re reading this and you have a passion for something, words of wisdom from Duong - expose it, share it, teach it, but most importantly, live for it.

    What are you passionate about?

  8. Today.

Today, I will celebrate my birthday with close friends and family in TO. This is gonna be CARAZAY SON!

  9. Update.

First off, I do want to apologize for my absence in regards to blogging. Yes…I will use my favorite excuse - Life is busy. It’s a valid excuse because it’s true! My life has revolved around my health and career that has occupied all of my time. That being said, I’m going to write about my current situation in terms of Life. Simple, effective, quick update. Shall we begin, yes?

    Career

I am currently working for a promo product company as a Marketing Coordinator. I must say, it’s the best job I’ve have ever had. Why? I oversee all creative, marketing, strategy and communications within the company. I work directly with the CEO preparing strategies on how we can generate new business as well as build a stronger foundation internally. I do have my own office, say, direction and influence in terms of how the company functions in marketing. I am truly grateful and blessed to be in this position

    Love

Damnnn son! No more crazy ladies in my life. I’m free, no obligations and I feel a lot lighter. Bitch is CARAZAY!!!

But seriously, I broke up with my girlfriend a while back when I discovered she had some issues and problems was bringing me down and slowing down my dreams, aspirations and potential. But there was some good that came from it. Biggest thing must be the fact that I’ve grown substantially meaning that I know what I want in a relationship and in a partner.

Loyal - Trust Worthy - Loving - Appreciative - Open Minded - Positivity.

    Health

I’m on the pinnacle of my fitness right now, dedicating an hour a day, 4 times a week at the gym. I don’t want to sound like a Jersey Shore cast, but I enjoy going to gym to stay in shape, de-stress, but more importantly stay healthy. There’s not much to say in terms, but I am determined to treat my body well.

Well that’s about it so far. Until next time!

    Peace - Love - Positivity.

  10. Adnce.

Ever since 19 till now, I’ve went through some unusual experiences. That being said, I’m going to write in random code, so when I’m old and grizzled, I can come back here, reference, and go back to where it all started.

  11. The things that makes me happy.

When feeling sad, down or when the world seems unfair to you, I always have ways to provide me with a boost of confidence and positivity. Everyday is different. Some days can be filled with joy, and others can be dark and gloomy. With inconstant feelings, each and everyday, I’ve decided to comprise a simple list of the things that literally takes my frown upside down. Settle, and enjoy…welcome to my list of happiness.

    1. Music - Noise cancelling headphones with my favorite songs and bands.

    2. Inspired Text - Positive text messages that were sent to me by friends and family

    3. Desktop Wallpaper - Landscaped image that fills the screen on my computer

    4. Driving with my windows down - Reflecting on situations

    5. Seeing my family - Go back to the people who moulded me to who I am today

    6. Seeing my friends - The joy of being around the people who have inspired me

    7. Guitar - Expressing myself through vocals and strings

    8. Art & Creativity - Keeps my imagination flowing

    9. Gratitude - Be thankful and greatful and you will be in a positive state of mind

    10. Love - Know that there are people out there that cares for you

  12. Running.

Completely forgot my running routine. Last year, I was at my peak in terms of running. Hitting 5ks left and right. I’ll probably get back to it again. Nikes and beats to obtain the infamous “Runners High”.

  13.
  14. Ukulele Season

  15. Finally.

3 years of having the iphone 3G, I thought technology was at it’s peak. But overtime, my phone started to decay on it’s own. Buttons were falling off, the phone was slow and sluggish, and overall, it’s provided me with a horrible mobile experience. The funny part? All buttons were broken except the home button. So if the phone was to freeze, die, etc, there is no way to turn the phone back on.

That being said, I have committed to a 3 year contract with Rogers, and am now a proud owner of a new White Iphone 4.
